Hey Y’all! Welcome to Seasons at Rosebriar (formally Fiddle Dee Dee)!
I’m Jen, your friendly, Southern mid-lifer (I fully intend to live to 100) navigating life in Stevenson, Alabama. Alongside my wonderful husband of 30 years, Audley, we’re living the good life on our small farm. After raising four amazing kids (and moving a whopping 18 times), we’ve circled back home and now proudly wear the titles of Lolli and Papa to five gorgeous grandbabies and eight granddogs. Life has been a whirlwind, but returning to our roots surrounded by family feels like the calm after the storm. Well, sort of, because farm life is never boring! Here at Rosebriar Farmette, we keep busy raising sheep, pheasants, call ducks, chickens, and now turkeys. Let’s just say there’s never a dull moment, especially since Audley’s weekly travels for work leave me juggling teaching full-time at a small Christian school with our busy farm schedule. But honestly, there’s so much joy in this stage of life that even the chaos feels like something worth celebrating.
Now, a little bit about me: I’m a recovering food-a-holic who has lost over 100 pounds in recent years, gained some back during “the pandemic”, and recently started losing again after being diagnosed with diabetes. It’s been a journey, but I’ve embraced the challenge with determination and a whole lot of heart. When I’m not keeping up with my health, you’ll find me traveling (less now with the farm, but it’s still a passion), decorating, working out, dressing up, shopping, reading, gardening, and hosting the occasional soiree.
We’re also beginning the exciting project of updating and remodeling our 1982 ranch-style home, fitting it in between farm duties and everything else on our plates. It’s another adventure we’re diving into, because why not? Life’s too short to sit still for long!
So, what is Seasons at Rosebriar all about? It’s a little slice of my Southern lifestyle… a blend of DIY, decorating, farming, gardening, cooking, and all the joys that make life so special. It’s not all perfectly curated Pinterest-worthy moments (though who doesn’t love those?)—it’s about real life, lived fully, with a touch of grace and laughter.
Pull off your muddy boots, pour yourself a glass of sweet tea, settle in, and enjoy a glimpse into our crazy-beautiful, bustling, blessed Southern lives. I’m so glad you’re here!
